After a befitting season
6 finale, Game Of Thrones were disappointed to learn about the delay in the
premiere of season 7. While fans have no other option than wait for season 7 to
be aired, they could receive some interesting news about the show during the
San Diego Comic-Con, which is scheduled to begin on 21 July.
This
year, fans will be given an opportunity to interact with those who were killed
in season 6. Kristian Nairn (Hodor), Iwan Rheon (Ramsay Bolton) and Faye Marsay
(The Waif) will be present on the GoT panel at the highly awaited event. Liam
Cunningham (Davos Seaworth), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), Isaac Hempstead
Wright (Bran Stark) and John Bradley (Samwell Tarly) will also be present on
the occasion to answer fan queries about the award-winning fantasy HBO series.
Soon
after the season 6 finale – Winds Of Winter – aired,
the internet was abuzz with fan theories regarding Bran Stark's vision, Jon
Snow's future alliance with Queen Daenerys Targaryen, and the White Walkers.
However,
there was an uncanny theory that surfaced regarding the importance of Sam in
the storytelling during the crucial battle with the White Walkers. Sam left his
father Randyll Tarly's castle and went to the Citadel where he was overwhelmed
to see the colossal library containing books which are centuries old.
A popular fan theory
suggests that the intelligent, well-educated, and insightful master for the
Night's Watch will read through the ancient scriptures and play a key role in
finding the formulae that would end the terror of the White Walkers.
Hence,
no doubt, Bradley – who plays Sam – will be bombarded with related questions
and it will be interesting to see how he would reply with giving out spoilers.
Being a fan of the show himself, the English actor has his own
theory regarding his character's future. "One theory is that what we're
seeing now and how we're experiencing Game of Thrones is Sam telling the story
of Game of Thrones. If you take the logic of the story now, the story of
Westeros and the story of the battle for the Iron Throne, it would be a book in
that library," he previously told The Hollywood Reporter.
"The
one thing I found moving about that object being the same in the Citadel and in
the opening titles is that it's a testament to [showrunner David Benioff and
Dan Weiss'] foresight, that they can plan something that only comes to fruition
much later on. It shows an incredible kind of long game, in terms of giving
people drips of information and being brave enough to puzzle people for a
while," he added.
All
eyes will be on the upcoming Comic-Con where Benioff and Weiss are expected to
give out some more details about the show's upcoming filming schedule, premiere
date and of course address multiple fan theories.
Moderated
by Rob McElhenney, the Game of Thrones panel and Q&A session will be held
on Friday 22 July.
