Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress (TMC) has found a new way to save the 2016 Bengal elections. By making a movie on their 'Didi' called 'Baghini- The Tigress' which will hit the theaters this April, just in line with the elections.
"We have sought to give a message that a woman can really scale such a height by sheer determination, struggle, and triumph over obstacles" said the director Nehal Dutta. He also clearly stated that the story got inspired from the life of Mamata Banerjee. But, it is not her Biopic nor it is a political game.
He mentioned that he has not used names of any political parties or persons but references of real events was inevitable.
Dutta also says that he has done a three year in depth research on the leader to make the movie starring Ruma Chakroborty in the lead as Indira Banerjee.
Author's comments: We are free to think that this is being backed by Mamata and her aides even though Nehal disagrees. The timing of the movie gives everyone an uncanny feeling and here's what people of Calcutta had to say:
