Rajasthan High Court rises against the IPL



 

 In a significant development the Rajasthan High Court issued notice to the state government, the Board of Cricket for Control in India (BCCI) for holding the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches in Jaipur, when Rajasthan itself is reeling under one of the worst water crisis the state has ever seen.

The notice has also been issued to Public Health Engineering department (PHED) Water Resources Department, Sports and Youth department and Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) seeking on the stand as to how has such permission been granted.

The following hearing is on 27th April, when the Rajasthan government has to brief the Court about the reasons for adopting the matches transferred from the drought hit Maharashtra.
