Bihar Police rescued a kidnapped
Nepali industrialist after over 60 hours of his abduction on Sunday.
Suresh Kedia, who was kidnapped
from Bara district of Nepal on Thursday evening, was safely released in Raxaul
town of Bihar at noon.
Indian and Nepali Police jointly
led the search operation for Kedia, who is one of the executive directors of
Kedia Organisation, a leading business conglomerate in Nepal.
The police have arrested a man in
this connection and seized a vehicle along with weapons.
During his ordeal, Kedia had been
left without food and didn't even have clean water to drink.
"On
Thursday when they took me, they kept me at some place. Their faces were
covered. I don't know what they mixed in the water I drank. For four days, I
have not eaten a single morsel of food. Today on Sunday, I saw that they were
wearing shades, and after making me sit on a motorcycle, two of them left me
somewhere," Kedia said.
Police are
examining the case further to find others involved in the crime.
"We
are investigating so that we can arrest the other culprits. A special team is
investigating the vehicle that we seized from the spot. The team is going to
soon reach the spot. Forensic evidence will be collected. We are continuously
in touch with the Nepal Police," said Superintendent of
Police of Motihari town, Jitendra Rana.
Later on Sunday, Kedia was
reunited with his family.
