Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker and Aam Aadmi Party leader Bandana Kumari
has submitted her resignation to Chief MinisterArvind Kejriwal in the wake of
defeat of the party's candidate in recent MCD by-polls.
A
legislator from Shalimar Bagh, Kumari was unhappy with the party nominating
Anvika Mittal for a by-poll candidate.
Kumari was
elected from the Shalimar Bagh constituency in Delhi after
defeating three-time sitting MLA. She is also the president of women's wing of
the party, Aam Aadmi Party Mahila Shakti.
After winning five seats in the MDC by-polls, which was below the party expectations, AAP said it will introspect over the results and also ask to the MLAs the reason for the defeat.
