Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief
Amit Shah on Saturday called emphasised on the need of giving appropriate
education of the Indian Freedom struggle to the youth of the country.
Unveiling the "Veer Savarkar
Jyot" at National Memorial - Cellular Jail at Port Blair today, Shah said,
the vocabulary used by the British Empire during their regime in the country
should be removed from history once and for all.
Remembering the sacrifices of Veer
Savarkar, he said that the great revolutionary lived and died for the
motherland.
Shah called upon the countrymen to
visit Port Blair as pilgrimage at least once in a life and pay tribute to the
great fighter, thinker and social reformer Veer Savarkar.
The programme was attended by
Union State Mister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan, and senior
leaders of BJP.
The Lt. Governor, Andaman and
Nicobar Islands Lt. Gen. A. K. Singh, Member of Parliament Bishnu Pada Ray also
highlighted the struggle of Veer Savarkar for freedom of motherland.
