Actress Meryl Streep is in talks to play Mary Poppins' cousin, Topsy, in the upcoming musical fantasy comedy 'Mary Poppins Returns'.
According to a report in Variety, the 67-year-old actress might play Topsy, a supporting role that wasn't in the 1964 classic and it is also said that actress would also sing for the part, as she did in 'Into the Woods and 'Mamma Mia', reports Channel.24.
Set in depression-era London, the film will see Emily Blunt in the leading role of Mary Poppins. Directed by Rob Marshall, the movie, which also stars Lin-Manuel Miranda, would narrate the story of an older Jane Michael Banks and Michael's three children, who are visited by Poppins in the aftermath of a 'personal loss' in Depression-hit London.
The movie would hit theatres in 2018
