Delhi Slum Demolishing Incident

Disclaimer: There is nothing good about the demolishing of slums in Delhi. We are not supporting the wrong move by Railway Authorities. We stand by the victims.

500 slums were demolished by the Railway Authorities during the chilly night of 12th December and over 2500 people were forced to spend the night in the open which caused the death of 1 child. The officials say that multiple notices were served but the dwellers deny the claim.

This gives rise to a few questions.

First, should the dwellers be allowed to enroach on the property of the Railways?

Yes and No. Since this is a result of the government's negligence that such a situation has risen. On the contrary, for the government it's not possible to provide shelter to 1.25 billion Indians. If they are not willing to work it will be very difficult for them to provide necessities.

So actually that is not the government's mistake.

Second, can it not be true that the authorities really issued notices?

Assuming that it is true, it can be automatically understood that they would have asked for shelter some where else which the government will not be able to provide, the reason being stated in the first answer.

Again the point goes in favor of the government.

Finally, a question repetitively being asked by media. There are properties illegally being used by rich citizens or politicians, why aren't there no actions taken against them?

There is a simple counter to this question. Why wasn't Salman Khan convicted for his hit and run case? If someone can answer this for us we'll surely find the answer to the original question. When the whole country is supporting Salman Khan for his deeds, how will such personalities be punished. Once the country starts supporting the correct side we'll surely find the answer to this question.
